What is JUVÉDERM® XC?
Juvederm is the smooth gel filler that your doctor uses to instantly smooth away wrinkles around your mouth and nose. With just one treatment, you’ll get smooth and natural-looking results.
JUVÉDERM® XC is manufactured using HYLACROSS™technology, creating a smooth-consistency gel. It is infused with lidocaine to improve comfort during treatment.
Where Does Juvederm Work?
Everyone’s skin ages differently and JUVÉDERM® XC may be used to rejuvenate multiple areas. From smile lines to vertical lip lines, you can smooth away unwanted wrinkles and restore natural contours.
- Smile Lines (or "Parentheses")
Smile lines, or nasolabial folds, run vertically from the bottom of the nose to the corners of the mouth. This is a popular treatment area that many women seek help with.
While individual results vary, after just one JUVÉDERM® XC treatment most patients see a real difference, with a noticeable softening of the smile lines.

- Marionette Lines
Marionette lines are the vertical facial wrinkles and folds that form below the corners of the mouth. These lines can sometimes give the appearance of sagging and/or a downturned expression.
- Vertical Lines
Facial wrinkles above and around the lips can begin to appear over time due to ordinary lip muscle movement. However, environmental factors such as exposure to sunlight, smoking and stress can also contribute to how the area around our lips ages and the formation of vertical lip lines. The good news is that JUVÉDERM® XC dermal filler can soften those with typically just one treatment!
How does JUVÉDERM® XC Work?
Young, healthy-looking skin contains an abundance of a naturally hydrating substance called hyaluronic acid (HA). But as you age, sunlight and other factors can reduce the amount of HA in your skin. The lack of HA causes your skin to lose structure and volume, creating unwanted facial wrinkles and folds - like thoseparentheses lines around your nose and mouth.
Using a dermal filler like JUVÉDERM® XC is a safe and effective way to replace the HA your skin has lost, bringing back its volume and smoothing away facial wrinkles and folds.

Important JUVÉDERM® Safety Information
JUVÉDERM® injectable gel (including JUVÉDERM® Ultra, JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus, JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC, and JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC) is indicated for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds (such as nasolabial folds).
Treatment side effects are usually mild to moderate, lasting 7 days or less, and include temporary injection-site reactions such as redness, pain, firmness, swelling, and bumps. JUVÉDERM® is not for people with severe allergies.
