New patients

What to expect at
your first visit.

A first consultation should feel like a conversation, not a sales appointment. Here is how the visit unfolds, step by step.

Before you arrive

A little preparation
goes a long way.

Plan for about ninety minutes. Bring a list of current medications and supplements, any prior operative reports, and photographs of yourself from ten years ago if you have them; they help us understand what has changed.

The visit

Three parts to
the conversation.

01

Welcome and conversation

You will be greeted by name and meet Dr. Kirwan directly. The first part of the visit is simply listening: what you have noticed, what you hope for, and what worries you.
02

Examination and photographs

A focused physical examination of the areas you are considering, standardized photographs, and, where relevant, 3D imaging to discuss possibilities realistically.
03

Options and a written plan

Dr. Kirwan explains which procedures, if any, are appropriate, the trade-offs of each, and what recovery looks like. You leave with a written summary, not a decision to make on the spot.

Our approach

How this practice
is different.

Surgeon-led

  • Every consultation with the surgeon
  • Sixty to ninety minutes, not fifteen
  • The same face at every follow-up
  • Direct line during recovery

Unhurried

  • Nothing is booked on the first visit
  • No same-day incentives
  • Time to think and return with questions
  • A second conversation before scheduling

Candid

  • Clear discussion of risks and limits
  • When surgery is not the right answer, we say so
  • Realistic expectations set in writing
  • Alternatives discussed openly

Private

  • Discreet, appointment-only entrance
  • On-site accredited surgical suite
  • Photographs stored securely and never shared without consent
  • Small team who knows you
