What is an Arm Lift?
Arm lift are done for Bat-wing or Bingo arms. The extra skin and fat that hangs down, is excised. Surgery can be combined with circumferential liposuction of the upper arm. Younger patients with good skin tone may benefit from liposuction and Bodytite alone without the skin excision and the resulting scar.
Age
There is no set age for this procedure. Arm lifts are often done in older patients with loss of skin tone and also in younger patients with excess skin after Massive Weight Loss (MWL). Younger patients with heavy arms and good skin tone will often have a good result with liposuction and Bodytite alone.

Surgical Technique
Surgery involves excision of skin and fat along the inside or the back of the arm, depending on personal preference. The scar extends from the axilla to the elbow. There is no guarantee as to the final position of the scar. The scars may be visible from behind, above the elbow, when the arms are resting at the side. Scars along the inside of the arm are visible when you lift your arms up. The great majority of scars heal well with minimal visibility. Mature scars that have turned white, can be exposed to the sun.
Philosophy
Liposuction for flabby arms will not correct excessive looseness of the skin. It will just make it worse. Although the scar is long in a brachioplasty, this procedure can truly rejuvenate the upper arm.
Surgical time and recovery
Surgery takes between two and three hours. The recovery period is about ten days. It can take 6-12 months to see the final result.
Related Procedures
Arm lifts are often combined with removal of excess skin on the side of the chest, especially after MWL. Arm lift are often done with other procedures such as a breast lift, upper body lift and liposuction.
