Morpheus8: A “multi-talented” technology to transform many signs of aging, damage on both face and body

At Kirwan Plastic Surgery, we know that not all patients are ready for surgical procedures. Our team in Norwalk, Connecticut, also appreciates that the decision to “go under the knife” is deeply personal. So, our practice, led by world-renowned board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Laurence Kirwan, is pleased to offer a wide array of alternatives to surgery. These non-surgical procedures include the Morpheus8 skin rejuvenation treatment by InMode.

The transformative power of Morpheus8

This revolutionary skin resurfacing treatment combines two different types of therapy into one system: Radiofrequency (RF) energy and microneedling. This innovative combination is versatile; Morpheus8 stimulates collagen production in the deep layers of the skin to improve many signs of aging and environmental damage. It is an appropriate treatment for both the face and neck, as well as other parts of the body – from the backside and abdominal area to the decolletage and arms.

The power of Morpheus8 resides in its ability to target the deeper tissues of the face and body precisely. Dr. Kirwan uses a specialized handpiece to deliver RF energy in a safe, temperature-controlled manner. Additionally, the applicator is equipped with numerous micro-needles. These needles penetrate at various depths to stimulate the process of collagen remodeling. By encouraging tissue healing and collagen production, new tissue fills depressed areas (such as wrinkles and scars) and tightens lax areas.

In all, Morpheus8 may be an appropriate treatment for:

  • Visible pores
  • Saggy skin
  • Dark spots or hyperpigmentation
  • Active acne
  • Scars from past acne breakouts
  • Redness caused by rosacea
  • Stretch marks
  • Rough, leathery texture
  • Fine lines
  • Wrinkles

The design of the Morpheus8 further helps to avoid the risks associated with earlier-generation, energy-based non-surgical treatments; for instance, the insulated micro-needles minimize the risk of discoloration post-treatment. So, it is well-suited for individuals across a broad spectrum of skin types and colors. Morpheus8 is also highly customizable. The energy can be delivered more superficially among patients with lighter skin. For those who desire to remove fat from the submental area underneath the chin, neck, and jowls, we can target tissue up to a depth of five millimeters. This supports deeper remodeling and reduces stubborn, fatty pockets of tissue.

Morpheus8 Body takes tissue remodeling to another level, reaching depths of eight millimeters. Energy is delivered via an applicator featuring a large surface tip and 40 thin, gold-coated micro-needles. An ideal treatment for fat removal and to address laxity caused by the loss of firming collagen, Morpheus8 Body promotes both adipose tissue and collagen remodeling to address sagging of the abdominal region, flanks (sides), thighs, and buttocks. It both sculpts and removes fat.

These treatments for the face or body may be complemented by other non-surgical treatments, such as AccuTite, FaceTite, and BodyTite. Dr. Kirwan can also optimize treatment results with surgical procedures, such as liposuction. Complementary procedures aid in tightening skin, reducing fat, and remodeling subdermal tissue underneath the skin.

A minimum of three monthly treatment sessions is advised. But, of course, no two patients are the same. So, no two treatments are alike. Kirwan Plastic Surgery is happy to partner with you to design a treatment plan that seamlessly fits your busy schedule and active lifestyle.
