Dr. Kirwan is giving a course on his trademarked technique of Simultaneous Salvage Auto-Augmentation (SSAA)™ at the 2023 Annual Aesthetic Society Meeting on Sunday April 23, in Miami, Florida.
Dr. Kirwan published his technique of Breast Auto-Augmentation (BAA)™ and Salvage Auto-Augmentation (SAA) in the Canadian Journal of Plastic Surgery in 2007. A series was presented in collaboration with Prof. Kefah Mokbel and Dr. Umar Wazir of The London Breast Institute in 2015. An updated series of Dr. Kirwan’s SSAA patients is currently being submitted for publication.
Between 2020 and 2021, 71,000 patients in the US had their breast implants removed without replacement, according to The Aesthetic Society Annual Statistics. With the increasing concerns of patients with symptomless textured breast implants and the risk of Breast Implant Associated, Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) and Breast Implant Illness (BII), as well as those patients with a capsular contracture, more and more women are now requesting that their implants be removed and not replaced. In these circumstances, a breast lift, with or without fat injection is need to reshape the breast after the implant is removed. Dr. Kirwan’s trademarked Breast Auto-Augmentation(BAA)™ technique is effective and safe. BAA™ can recreate an attractive perky breast with minimal scarring and without leaving the appearance of a deflated, flat, unsupported breast.
Dr. Kirwan is now scheduled to present his trademarked technique of Simultaneous Salvage Auto-Augmentation (SSAA)™ in Miami, Florida, at the 2023 Annual Meeting of The Aesthetic Society Meeting on Sunday April 23.
