At Kirwan Plastic Surgery, we say that every patient is a VIP. Our team, led by Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Laurence Kirwan, doesn’t just say this; we act on it and embody it. We strive to provide the VIP experience to all, not just the faces that you may recognize. Everyone deserves that quality of care and service. One of the ways that we accomplish this is with our exacting approach to cosmetic surgery consultation. We take this initial visit to our center in Norwalk, Connecticut, very seriously because it is foundational and sets the tone for the rest of your treatment journey and experience at our office and with our team.
We cover a lot of ground! This visit largely includes a discussion about your goals for surgery, as well as any existing medical conditions, allergies, and medications and supplements that you may be taking. Dr. Kirwan also assesses your general health status and identifies potential risk factors that must be addressed/mitigated. From there, he takes a closer look at your areas of concern – what essentially brought you to our office in the first place. Measurements and photographs may be taken, and we can discuss treatment alternatives and other essentials about what to expect, such as potential risks, recovery needs, and outcomes.
Other than your effervescent self, it is helpful to bring realistic expectations. Dr. Kirwan is a skilled, well-respected, internationally-recognized specialist; however, there are various factors specific to you and your lifestyle that can affect the durability of given treatments. We also encourage you to bring a sound and clear understanding of your goals and preferences. Of course, bring any questions with you, too. The consultation is your opportunity to acquire credible information that is also specific to your situation. This information can empower you to make the best, most well-informed decisions about your future steps and treatment.
The information that Dr. Kirwan collects about you is used to both prepare you for the most successful and safe treatment, as well as to support treatment planning and the specific techniques and approaches that may be used to predictably get the results that you desire. Those results must also fit and complement your personality and physical characteristics. Dr. Kirwan may advise on adjusting your current medications and herbal supplements to reduce the risk of potential side effects and complications, such as bleeding and bruising. Lab tests and additional medical evaluations may be required. We will review everything to expect with you well in advance of your procedure.
Dr. Kirwan’s reputation precedes him. He has built a robust patient base of VIPs, many faces and names you would likely recognize. However, he also treats all of his patients like the Very Important People that they are. This blend of considerable technical expertise and exceptional service/care may be imitated but is rarely duplicated. To experience it for yourself, call our Norwalk, CT office at (475) 250-1581 to schedule your consultation today.
